Instruction provided to adults who function below the ninth grade equivalent level in language arts and/or mathematics.

ABE-Adult Basic Education

HSD-High School Diploma

Instruction designed to fulfill the requirements for a high school diploma. This MMC Diploma covers all the core subjects: Math, Science, English, Social Studies and various other credits required by the state and local school board. Students will complete courses as needed using the online program Odysseyware. Teacher led classroom times also available for those students needing the one-on-one instructional support.

Students wanting to earn their high school equivalency certificate prepare using a variety of resources including the online program Essential Ed, Kaplan GED Prep and others along with teacher lead instruction. Coursework is designed to prepare participants to pass the GED tests in Language Arts Writing, Language Arts Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. GED tests will provide a universally recognized high school equivalency credential and measure high school level knowledge and skills for those who have not earned a high school diploma.

GED-General Education Diploma

ESL-English as a Second Language

These classes are for anyone for whom English is not your primary language. The classes assist students in improving their ability to speak, listen to, read and write English. ESL helps students work on communication skills needed for work, at home and in day to day activities.

Corrections Education

Students wanting to earn their high school equivalency certificate while incarcerated. Instruction to enable successful completion is designed to prepare participants to pass the HiSet tests in Language Arts Writing, Language Arts Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. HiSet tests will provide a universally recognized high school equivalency credential and measure high school level knowledge and skills for those who have not earned a diploma. Teacher led classroom times are available for those students meeting the criterial for program involvement.

Workforce Readiness

*Job-related skill development to secure employment or to achieve an upgrade in employment.

*The basic skills necessary to perform in entry-level occupations or the skills necessary to adapt to technological advances in the workplace.

*Instruction in job-or employment-related mathematics, reading, and communication skills.

*Employability skills instruction.

Adult Secondary Education/ Remediation

An educational program for adults who have obtained their diploma or high school equivalent, but who are performing below a 12th grade level in math or reading. The focus is to work on improving educational reading and math skills.
